    Date, Venue for 2026 Buganda Kingdom’s Coronation Royal Regatta Revealed

    The organising committee has intensified preparations for the climax 2026 Coronation regatta (Empaka za Amaato ga Kabaka) slated for 22nd August at Bunjako beach in Buwama, along Masaka road.

    The committee led by Eng. Ben Immanuel Misagga on Monday, 3rd August 2026 inspected the venue for the event ahead of the grand finale.

    “We have inspected the venue for the event and its in good conditions to host an event of this magnitude. The 18 teams that will participate in the event are well prepared and we expect them to put up a great show. People who will attend this event early have a chance to win big prizes, so i encourage everyone to come and enjoy this amazing competition.” Said Misagga

    Misagga also asserted that the Kabaka of Buganda Kingdom His Majesty Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II is expected to grace the event at Bunjako.

    It should be remembered that the preliminary round of the competition was held at Nakiwogo beach in Entebbe.

    On the climax day, the first 100 fans to access the venue will have a chance of landing hidden coupons in the sand to win prizes such as motorcycles, phones among others. Fans are assured of security, enough parking and will also be entertained with musicians at event.

    Meanwhile, the winners of the boat competition will also walk away with prizes such as winnrrs trophies and cash prizes. Batenga Nakisozi from Uganda Rowing who is the head coach of Uganda Rowing teams will oversee technical affairs.
