Entebbe UPPC came from a goal down to beat UPDF FC 2-1 at Hamz Stadium in Nakivubo on Tuesday.

The result saw Abdallah Mubiru’s side maintain a perfect start to the 2026/27 Uganda Premier League campaign following their famous 1-0 win over champions Vipers SC on matchday one.

It was a hard-fought victory over 10-man UPDF, who had Swaibu Kasujja Kalule sent off late on.

    How It Happened

The Army side took the lead through Derrick Taremwa’s header off Robert Kitabalwa’s corner kick in the 20th minute, silencing the home crowd.

Entebbe UPPC responded strongly. Thomas Ochungo restored parity for the hosts after a great delivery from Ibrahim Mugulusi. They had another opportunity to go into the first-half break leading but Sharif Ssengendo had his header go over the bar.

In the second period, substitute Ambrose Kigozi who was Entebbe UPPC’s top scorer last term and missed the triumph over Vipers due to injury struck from the spot to give the hosts the lead. His calm penalty completed the turnaround.

With 15 minutes to regulation time, UPDF’s task became even harder when they were reduced to ten men following a dangerous tackle from Kalule on midfielder Reich Triomphe Kokolo.

Mubiru’s side held on for a massive three points that sends them top of the early table with six points from two games.

In the other game on Tuesday, NEC FC prevailed to a 3-1 win over Lugazi FC at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, to also record their second straight win of the campaign.
