Express FC have completed the signing of former St. Mary’s Kitende winger Steven Yiga, Swift Sports understands.
Yiga has made a bold move to navigate the murky waters of the Uganda Premier League after starring performances in the Masaza Cup with Buddu Saaza.
Yiga played an integral role as Football Classroom FC, a none league team, took the Uganda Cup by the storm last season.
He was not only the team’s leading scorer in the Uganda Cup campaign but also had notable scoring moments against Kayda (hat trick) and topflight side Calvary FC.
Yiga, who has also been featuring for UMU Nkozi in the University Football League, is expected to add explosive pace and directness in the Express attack heading into the 2026/27 season.
The Red Eagles have so far unveiled Derrick Ddungu (Rickman), Shafik Batambuze, Mathias Kigonya, Alpha Ssali and striker Isaac Wagoina.
The Morley Byekwaso coached side will be opening their 2026/27 season with an away encounter against BUL FC on Sunday 30th August at Njeru.
