*KCCA Leopards Vs UCU Lady Canons – 7pm
*UCU Canons Vs Sommet – 9pm
UCU Canons will be aiming to bounce back to winning ways tonight when they face Sommet in the National Basketball League at Abja Park Naalya.
The Canons come into the game on the back of consecutive defeats to Namuwongo Blazers and UPDF Tomahawks, after opening their season with a win over Uganda Martyrs University Flames.
The defeat against UPDF was painful in every sense of the word! They were up by a point (48-47) with about two minutes on the clock when the game was halted by rain on Sunday, and postponed to the following day.
UCU drove from Mukono to YMCA for a rescheduled fixture that was to be played for the remaining two minutes, only to fail to score as UPDF won 51-48.
The Canons were outrebounded 57-43 in a game they turned over the ball 27 times.
Only Daniel Muganzi and Zachariah Ekirapa who scored 12 and 10 points respectively, reached double figures.
Sommet, meanwhile, have won two of their three games so far, with their most recent outing ending in a 56–52 loss to KCCA Panthers.
Sommet who lost 56-52 to KCCA on February 20, had led that game 29-24 at halftime only to collapse in the second half of the game.
Foreign imports Emilagba Abolahji Abdulahi and Karabana Diaw are some of the new signings at Sommet, brought in to fill the void left by Nyembo Fataki who signed for the Blazers.
Emilagba has so far impressed, averaging 10 points.
Joseph Chuma, who joined from the Oilers is averaging 14 points and 10 rebounds while Nkulu Kaseya who is averaging 13 points is the other player to look out for.
