URA FC have signed left back Disan Galiwango on a two-year contract from Tanzania’s Dodoma Jiji, it’s official.
Galiwango becomes URA’s second mid-season signing after Moses Waiswa, as the Tax Collectors strengthen their squad for the second half of the season.
The experienced defender returns to Uganda with a strong record from his time at Vipers SC, where he won two Uganda Premier League titles and two Uganda Cup trophies between 2020 and 2023.
Speaking after completing his move, Galiwango expressed his delight at joining the Tax Collectors:
“I’m extremely happy to join URA FC. This is a club with clear ambitions and a strong identity. I’ve come here ready to work hard, help the team improve, and give my very best for the badge. I believe my experience can help us achieve our targets this season and beyond.”

He began his career at Rifo Soccer Academy before playing for Simba SC, The Saints FC, Water FC and Express FC. He later moved to Tanzania, featuring for Kagera Sugar and then Dodoma Jiji.
Galiwango agreed to end his contract early in Tanzania, clearing the way for his return home with URA FC.
“Disan is a proven winner. He brings experience, professionalism, and a strong mentality into the squad,” Coach Hussein Mbalangu said.
“These are the qualities we need at this stage of the season to stabilize the team and push forward. His presence will be key as we work to turn our performances into consistent results.”

Mbalangu is reinforcing his squad after he reportedly told eight players that they are not in his plans! These are Nelson Ssenkatuka, Laban Tibita, Abraham Tusubira, Shafik Lugolobi, Amis Bwangani, Nicholas Kabonge, Faisal Matovu and Kabon Living, the latter has since returned to Kitara.
The Tax Collectors are 13th on the log with just 15 points after 17 games, and host Mbarara City on March 4 at Nakivubo.
