Uganda has officially been confirmed as the host nation for the upcoming FIBA AfroBasket U18 Zone V Qualifiers, scheduled to run from June 14th to 20th, 2026.
FUBA has confirmed Hoima Arena, at the new Hoima City stadium, as the host venue for the regional championship.
The tournament will bring together 11 nations, including hosts Uganda, from across the Zone Five region.
Participating countries also include Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, Egypt, Burundi, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Somalia, Djibouti and South Sudan.
The tournament will feature both boys’ and girls’ teams, all competing for qualification to the FIBA U18 Afrobasket Championship.
Uganda hosted the event in 2024 at Lugogo Indoor Arena, with Junior Silverbacks and Junior Gazelles winning the boys and girls titles respectively.
